Think Sustainably this Holiday Season when planning gifts

As we prepare for the holiday season, it is ever more important to be kinder to planet Earth and reduce waste and junk. I have been researching and trying to locate resources that are more sustainable. Here is my growing list and findings so far -

0. Be a conscious consumer and think sustainably starting with green thanksgiving ideas here

1. Bookshop - You can support your local bookshops and send out gift cards via email.

2. Kiva - You can send gift card to focus on reducing poverty and you empower the person to micro-loan and have a bigger impact for projects that they support. What better way to reduce worldwide poverty - which is the #1 Goal of UN's Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)

3. CuriosityStream - Science based documentaries at your fingertips for only $1 a month!

4. MasterClass - Feeling fancy? Learn the best skills from the greatest talents around the world. My favorites are Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson. You get 2 for 1 annual membership deal (limited time only)

5. Jackson Heights Gift Guide  -  Look into supporting your local businesses and restaurants especially during this pandemic. One of the best ways to reduce your carbon footprints is to shop locally!

6. Join a Buy Nothing Group near you locally to give away and receive items near you - to reduce your carbon footprint.
