Newsela: Current News for improving literacy reading!

I have always been a major proponent of literacy. One of the challenges has always been that students are at different reading levels, and not everyone can access the latest news from New York Times. Newsela tries to solve this challenge by including five different reading levels for current news. It also includes a comprehension check. This is a great free resource, and a must have for your classroom - which is why I am adding it to my list of Ed-Tools link in the menu. You never know which news article will spark your student's interest.
