NYC Climate Action Days: Nov 19th (Waste)

As we prepare for Climate Action Days in every NYC Public Schools, I want to share some of the best resources I encounter with the theme that we are focusing on.

Every school has a Sustainability Coordinator, but climate action is a schoolwide and community effort!

THEME#1 - WASTE (Nov 19th)
How do we effectively reduce waste and sort better?
Join your hyper local Buy Nothing Groups to reduce landfill wastes and to build community by following three simple rules of Buy Nothing: Ask, Share, Gratitude.

How do I find a Buy Nothing Group?

"Buy Nothing groups are hyper local Facebook groups. You can find a list of the Buy Nothing Groups HERE.

You can also search Facebook for ‘buy nothing’ and your city’s name. Make sure to look around at the options as many cities have multiple groups.

By their rules, you are only supposed to be in one Buy Nothing group and they will typically ask for your cross streets when you request to join to make sure it’s the right one for your neighborhood."
