August 2nd is the new deadline before our nation defaults. The ideological GOP only believes in cutting spending (which mostly hurts the poor and the elderly..one of the main responsibility of the government) and has put raising taxes on the wealthy off the table. Mind you, GOP presidency and policies brought us the financial crisis of 2008 and the recovery is now in jeopardy thanks to them. I, for one, will be pointing fingers if we have to go through another depression. Sigh.
