What a Sprint-T-Mobile merger could mean for wireless users

I do not foresee a merger between Sprint and T-Mobile due to the differences in technology between the companies. Their 3G technology are incompatible, which makes it difficult to see them working together in the long run. On another note, there are some interesting third party cell phone companies in the US market right now. I would like to see Boost Mobile, CricKet and MetroPCS joining hands somehow to have a more substantial impact. What are your thoughts on this merger rumor?
